Check your shelves! Japanese Manga and all Graphic Novels are Hot! Forrest Young teaches a fun and informative class on "sequential art", as it appears in comic books, graphic novels, manga, and anime. Showing the differences in genres such as picture books and comic strips, he teaches a historical perspective of the popular art forms in the books on your library shelves. His training and experience in commercial illustration makes his demonstration mesmerizing! A portion of the class is a hands-on lesson where Forrest uses a down to earth approach to show how easy drawing like a favorite illustrator can be. This workshop will spark the interest of young artists, as well as those who simply love to read illustrated stories!

Length: 1 Hour
Target Audience: Ages 8-18
Range of Travel : Anywhere in Virginia and surrounding states.
